President Hage Geingob today announced that Stage 1 restrictions will be extended to the entire Erongo Region for 14 days, starting midnight tonight.
All old-age homes in the region will be placed under isolation.
President Geingob said, "the cost of inaction will be devastating" and pleaded with communities to adhere to the restrictions.
If not handled correctly it could mean community spread of the Coronavirus, said President Geingob.

Reasons for the decisions are because members of the Walvis Bay community have not been adhering to lockdown measures.
Eight of Namibia's 31 positive COVID-19 cases are from the Erongo Region.
Seven of these cases have been detected in the last two weeks.
Stage 1 means only essential services will operate, the sale of alcohol is strictly prohibited and open markets will not be permitted to operate.
Restaurants will only be permitted to operate take-away services.
