Approximately 3,860 steel rails weighing 7,500 tonnes were discharged at the port of Walvis Bay, Namibia, during November.
The general cargo ship Vestis Isle delivered the rails, which will be used to upgrade a section of the Walvis Bay to Kranzberg railway line.
This was the second consignment of rails delivered to the port; in July 2019, 6,679 tonnes of steel rails arrived at the gateway. A final 5,821-tonnes shipment should be delivered in March 2020.
