The well deserving Ms Ndahambelela Haikali showing off one of her winnings at the Awards Ceremony

Late last month, different recipients received awards in various categories at the annual event of the PAN African Awards “Africa’s Most Influential Women in business and Government”, held by the CEO Global Company held in South Africa. The awards are conferred to influential women who are leaving their footprints in the various sectors they operate in.

The CEO Global Company award was first conferred to recipients in various categories in 2001, with awards previously won by the likes of Ms Patty Karuaihe-Martin, Managing Director of NamibRe as well as Ms Menesia Muinjo, Chief of News and Programming at the National Broadcaster, amongst others.

The awards enjoy eminence recognition in the marketplace as a credible identifier of women in business and government who are willing to put their influence to work for the benefit of Africa’s economy.

In 2019, one of the recipients was our very own Company Secretary, Ms Ndahambelela Haikali who walked away with two awards;

  • Country Winner Most Influential Woman in Public Enterprise
  • SADC South Regional Winner Most Influential Woman in Public Enterprise

Ms Haikali dedicates her win to the entire Namport workforce and says that “given that this is an award in the Public Enterprise category, it is just right to bestow this win to the entire Namport family. If I was not employed by Namport, I would not have been nominated in this category. I am grateful for the opportunities that this great organization continues to afford not only to myself, but all female employees. I am forever indebted to the colleagues who put me forward, who listens and value my contribution.”

Lastly Ms. Haikali would like to dedicate these awards to all women in Namport “as it is not easy to operate in this masculine environment but together we are better and we can achieve so much more.”

The Namport Management is committed to gender diversity and empowering its women. This recognition is testimony to the achievements that can come when one takes advantage of the opportunities presented.

To Miss Haikali, we at Namport are proud of you and thank you for not only flying the Namport flag beyond our shores but also raising the Namibian flag beyond its borders.
