Namport is Namibia’s national port authority and a key driver of the country’s trade and logistics network. Established under the Namibian Ports Authority Act, No. 2 of 1994, Namport is responsible for managing the Ports of Walvis Bay and Lüderitz, two strategic gateways that connect Namibia and the Southern African region to international markets.

From its headquarters in Walvis Bay, Namport plays a central role in facilitating the movement of imports, exports and transit cargo across major trade corridors linking Namibia to Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Africa. Its operations support regional supply chains, create business opportunities and contribute directly to economic growth.

Over the past three decades, Namport has grown into a modern port authority focused on efficiency, reliability and service excellence. Continuous investment in infrastructure, technology and operational systems has strengthened cargo handling capacity, improved turnaround times and enhanced customer experience. This ongoing development ensures that Namport remains responsive to the changing needs of shipping lines, exporters, importers and logistics partners.

In 2025, Namport continues to strengthen its position as a leading maritime logistics hub by expanding capacity, improving operational performance and supporting Namibia’s broader trade ambitions. With a strong commitment to safety, sustainability and innovation, Namport is focused on building resilient port services that create long term value for customers, communities and the national economy.
