Work Integrated Learning
Namport also provides students with an opportunity to apply their learning from vocational and academic studies to relevant experiences and reciprocate learning back to their study. A mentor is appointed to supervise the structured programme outlined by training institutions to ensure intended learning takes place.
The following sub-schemes are part of work integrated learning:
- Apprenticeship:
Where we provide for on-the-job learning opportunities to trainees at public and private vocational training institutions, in line with their specific trades and levels, to support trainees to complete their trade specialization.
Requirements:
- Registration with a vocational training institution holding a National Vocational Certificate (Level 1, 2, or 3).
- A letter from your training institution confirming the need for attachment, trade, and year of study.
- An academic transcript indicating outstanding academic performance of at least 60% and higher.
Duration:
- The duration of the program ranges between 6 – 12 months as prescribed by each student’s Training Institution.
- Job Attachment:
Namport provides on-the-job learning opportunities to students studying at high institutions of leaning, seeking experiential learning as partial fulfilment of their studies.
Requirements:
- Enthusiastic disposition with the right attitude and zeal to learn.
- Exceptional academic performance record (verified by the latest academic report).
- Enrolment in high institutions accredited by the Namibian Qualification Authority (NQA).
- A letter from your Tertiary Institution confirming the need for job attachment.
Duration:
- The duration of the program is 3 months and/ or as prescribed by the Tertiary Institution.
- Internship:
This provides practical experience to young people with qualifications, looking for work experience in various fields.
Requirements:
- Enthusiastic disposition with the right attitude and zeal to learn
- Exceptional academic performance record (verified by the latest academic report).
- Qualifications from NQA-accredited institutions (not older than 3 years)
Duration:
- The duration of the program ranges between 6 – 12 months
