INTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT - This opportunity is open to current Namport employees only. 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To perform CCTV monitoring in real-time and dispatch response team as needed. The role reports directly to the Senior Security Officer: CCTV.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Monitor CCTV systems and conduct real-time surveillance operations.
  • Identify and report suspicious movements and behavioural patterns of staff, contractors, and visitors
  • entering the port.
  • Conduct initial system-related investigations and escalate incidents where necessary.
  • Perform daily CCTV system checks and maintain accurate operational and downtime records.
  • Report system faults and coordinate timely resolution with relevant technical personnel.
  • Monitor and verify the physical integrity of CCTV and other security systems.
  • Support emergency response operations, including hazardous substance incidents and other
  • security-related emergencies.
  • Assist with first aid and evacuation activities in accordance with Namport emergency procedures.
  • Perform control room duties and assist in the classification and coordination of emergency situations.
  • Carry out any other security-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • National Certificate (NQF Level 5) in Security Management, Policing, Criminal Justice or related qualification.
  • CCTV Surveillance, Control Room Operations, or Electronic Security Systems training will be an added advantage.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in a corporate security environment, of which at least one (1) year should be in
  • CCTV monitoring, control room operations, electronic security systems monitoring, or security incident response.
  • Competency in firearm handling and possession of a valid firearm competency certificate will be an added advantage.
  • Valid Code B driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to identify security risks.
  • High levels of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a security and emergency response team.
