PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To transport, load and offload cargo within designated port areas. The role reports directly to the Supervisor: General Cargo Operations.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
•Operate mechanical lifting stacking equipment.
•Transport cargo within the port facility or terminal, ensuring proper handling and placement according to specified instructions.
•Maintain operation of cargo handling equipment categories 5 and 4 (all size forklifts and terminal tractors/ haulers).
•Perform daily safety checks on haulage and mechanical lifting equipment.
•Execute safe and efficient cargo handling operations.
•Adhere to OHSE rules and legislation to ensure safe operations.
•Account for related administration and reporting duties.
•Perform any other ad-hoc duties as and when required.
