The Namibian Ports Authority yesterday, 08 March 2023 donated life jackets valued at N$210,000.00 to flood victims from the Okatjali Constituency in the Oshana region. The constituency has been hit hard by the recent floods recorded in the northern part of the country.
Receiving the life jackets, Honorable Joseph Mupetami, Regional Councilor of the Okatjali Constituency, said that the generous donation from the Ports Authority came at the right time as Okatjali Constituency is impacted due to the heavy rainfall received in the southern part of Angola, causing rivers to end up in Ohangwena and Oshana regions respectively.
During the handover, Ms Tana Pesat Manager: Corporate Communications stated the Namibian Ports Authority as a responsible corporate citizen is committed to addressing the plight of community members in Namibia whenever possible. Ms Pesat further reiterated the assistance is a reflection of the Authority’ devotion to help and support government’s efforts in dealing with the challenges resulting from floods.
